Male on Firearms Prohibition Arrested in Possession of Loaded Firearms

Region of Peel – Investigators from the 12 Division Criminal Investigations Bureau have charged an individual with several firearms related offences following a call for service in Mississauga.
On Sunday, June 15, 2025, officers responded to reports of a disturbance at a residence near Bloor Street and Bridgewood Drive. During the investigation, officers discovered firearms and ammunition that were improperly stored in the residence. Further investigation revealed that the individual was currently subject to a firearms prohibition and not legally entitled to possess firearms. Officers seized two firearms: an SKS semi-automatic Rifle with a prohibited magazine and a bolt-action rifle. How the accused acquired these firearms and their origins are currently under investigation.
Muamer Spahic, a 39-year-old man from Mississauga, was arrested and held in custody pending a bail hearing for the following offences:
- Possession of a Firearm knowing it’s Possession is Unauthorized x2
- Carless Storage of a Firearm x2
- Breach of Probation
- Mischief Over $5000
- Possession of Prohibited Device
- Possession Contrary to Order
- Possession of Prohibited or Restricted Firearm with Ammunition
Later, while in police custody, the accused caused extensive damage to the divisional cell block and fire suppression system. Consequently, an additional charge of Mischief Over $5000 was laid.
