Male Facing Firearm Charges After Traffic Stop

Region of Peel – Investigators from 21 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau have charged a male with numerous firearms related offences.

On Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at approximately 11:00 a.m. officers from 21 Division conducted a traffic stop of a motorcycle in the area of Highway 50 and Bellchase Trail in the City of Brampton.

As a result of the subsequent investigation, a male was arrested at the above location at which time it was discovered that he was in possession of two firearms.

Investigators from the 21 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau have charged Rohan NUGENT, a 45 year-old male from Richmond Hill, with the following offences:

  1. Obstruct Peace Officer
  2. Careless Storage of Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited Device or Ammunition x2
  3. Unauthorized Possession of Firearm x2
  4. Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose x2
  5. Unauthorized Possession of Prohibited or Restricted Weapon x2
  6. Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm x2
  7. Occupant of Motor Vehicle Knowing there was Unauthorized Possession of Prohibited or Restricted Weapon x2
  8. Possession of Firearm, etc. Contrary to Order x4

Rohan NUGENT was held for a bail hearing at the A. Grenville & William Davis Court House in the City of Brampton.
