Male Arrested for November Brampton Transit Driver Assault
Region of Peel â Peel Regional Police officers have arrested and charged a male who assaulted a City of Brampton Transit driver.
On November 4, 2018, at approximately 12:49 a.m. the victim was operating a transit bus on Bovaird Drive at Van Kirk Drive, Brampton. An unknown individual boarded the bus and refused to pay. The victim stopped the bus and asked the individual to pay or get off the bus. The suspect proceeded to punch and kick the victim. The victim suffered minor injuries.
On December 8, 2018, 22 year-old Winston Watkins of Brampton was arrested and charged with Assault and Mischief Under $5000.
Winston Watkins was released with an upcoming court date in January 2019.
