Male Arrested for Attempted Murder of a Child
Region of Peelâ Investigators from the Special Victims Unit and 22 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau have arrested a male for Attempted Murder of a child the City of Brampton.
On Thursday, July 19, 2018 at 6:06 a.m. police received a 911 call regarding a missing 5-year-old from his residence on McHardy Crt, in the City of Brampton. Police were advised the child was last seen at approximately 2:00 a.m. At 6:59 a.m., the victim was located by a K9 officer near the train tracks. The victim was located unconscious and showed signs of physical trauma.
The victim was transported to hospital via ambulance, where he was listed in life threatening but stable condition and later transported to a trauma center.
On Thursday July 19, 2018 Dyon Smart a 28-year-old male from Brampton, who was known to the victim was arrested and charged with Attempt Murder, Aggravated Assault, Fail to Comply with Recognizance and Breach of Probation Order. Dyon Smart appeared at the Brampton Court of Justice for bail hearing on July 19, 2018.
