Investigators Make Arrest in Banquet Hall Stabbing

Region of Peel – Investigators from the 21 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau have arrested a male party for a stabbing incident that had occurred at a banquet hall, located in the area of Goreway Drive and Deerhurst Dr, in the City of Brampton.

In the early morning hours of Sunday, December 2, 2018, police attended the banquet hall in response to several 911 calls, regarding a large group of people fighting. As a result of the incident, several people received minor injuries and one man sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to a trauma centre for treatment.

On Wednesday, December 12, 2018, Arshdeep Mand, a 20 year-old male from Brampton, was arrested and charged with Attempt Murder and Aggravated Assault.

Arshdeep Mand was held pending a bail hearing to take place on December 13, 2018, at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.
