Impaired Driver Charged Following Fatal Collision

Region of Peel– Investigators from the Major Collision Bureau have charged a man with several offences following a fatal motor vehicle collision in Mississauga.
On Tuesday, Apr. 1, 2025, at 1:47 p.m., police responded to a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Erin Mills Parkway and Vista Boulevard. A blue Mazda 3 was traveling northbound on Erin Mills when it collided with a Silver Jeep Cherokee that was southbound, making a left turn to Vista. Following the collision, the Mazda lost control and collided with a pole. The speed of the Mazda is considered a primary factor in this collision.
Both the driver and passenger of the Mazda were transported to the hospital with serious injuries. The passenger, a 20-year-old man from Mississauga, died from his injuries. The driver of the Jeep was not seriously injured.
As a result, the driver of the Mazda, 22-year-old Armaan Gill of Mississauga, was charged with the following offences:
- Dangerous Operation Causing Death
- Operation While Impaired Causing Death (Drugs)
- Possession for the Purpose of Distributing
- Race a Motor Vehicle
- Speeding - 140 Km/h in a 70 Km/h Zone.
- Drive Motor Vehicle - Perform Stunt - Speeding by 40 or More km/h in a Zone That is Less Than 80 km/h.
- Driver - Fail to Properly Wear Seat Belt.
