Illegal Firearm Seized from Young Offenders at Community Centre in Mississauga

Region of Peel – Investigators have arrested and charged two young offenders after a firearm was reported at a school in Mississauga

On Feb. 25, at approximately 1:40 p.m., officers responded to reports of a student in possession of a firearm at a school near Erin Centre Boulevard and Glen Erin Drive. Upon arrival, officers determined that the individual was inside the adjoining community centre and never in the school. As a precaution, both the school and community centre were placed into lockdown.

Officers attended the community centre and took two individuals into custody without incident. They were found to be in possession of a loaded illegal handgun, and neither were students of the adjoining school.

Further investigation determined that no threats were made and there was no indication the suspects intended to cause harm at the school or community centre.
