Gun and Drugs Seized Following Vehicle Stop

Region of Peel – Officers from the 12 Division Criminal Investigations Bureau (CIB) have arrested a man and laid numerous drug and firearms charges after a vehicle stop in Mississauga.
On June 30, at approximately 2:30 a.m., CIB officers were conducting proactive patrol near Dixie Road and Courtneypark Drive when they investigated the operator of a vehicle for a Liquor Licence Act offence. During the investigations, officers discovered the individual to be armed with an illegal .40 Cal. compact Glock handgun and in possession with a quantity of suspected fentanyl, cocaine and crystal meth.
As a result, 26-year-old Brandon Joseph Miles of Scarborough was arrested and held for a bail hearing on the following charges:
- Having Care of Control of a Motor Vehicle with Unsealed Container of Alcohol
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
- Possession of a Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm
- Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
- Possession of Prohibited Device or Ammunition Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
- Tampering With Serial Number of Firearm
- Occupant of a Vehicle Knowing There Was a Firearm
- Careless Storage of a Firearm
- Carrying Concealed Weapon
- Possession of Opioid
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Drugs (X3)
Brandon Joseph Miles is not legally authorized to possess firearms.
