Graffiti in Mississauga One Man Arrested
Region of Peel– Officers from the 12 Division Neighbourhood Policing Unit have arrested a man in relation to mischiefs occurring in the City of Mississauga.
Since 2019, 12 Division officers have been investigating a series of mischiefs occurring to both public and private properties that have been defaced by graffiti. The majority of the incidents occurred during the evening, within the area of Rathburn Road and Fieldgate Drive. In the in the later part of 2019, police began to observe a trend of graffiti that appeared on bus stops, businesses, park benches, and private property. A commonality of the word “Nayper” would be displayed and would often be accompanied with a “trident symbol and / or devil’s horns. The trend continued in to 2020 and was also discovered in areas of Toronto.
On Monday April 6, 2020, a search warrant was executed on a residence and a man was arrested, in relation to these offences. The 20-year-old man from Mississauga was charged with nine counts of Mischief Over $5000. He was then released in to the custody of Toronto Police Service, where he was charged with additional counts of Mischief Over $5000.
