Four Arrested Gun Seized in Taxi Cab Robberies
Region of Peelâ Investigators from the Peel Regional Police Central Robbery Bureau have arrested four young people for two separate robberies and seized a loaded firearm.
On Tuesday, September 25, 2018, at approximately 2:40am, the first victim was assaulted and robbed of money and a cell phone when he attended the area of Sandalwood Pkwy and Dixie Road, Brampton for a taxi fare. At approximately 3:30am, a second victim was threatened and robbed of money and cell phone when he attended the area for a taxi fare.
Later that morning, as a result of the investigation, members of the Central Robbery Bureau arrested and charged four young people for the offence of Robbery.
A 17 year-old male from the City of Brampton,
A 14 year-old male from the City of Brampton,
A 16 year-old male from the City of Brampton, and
A 16 year-old male from the City of Brampton.
During the course of their arrest, a loaded .22 calibre revolver was also recovered.
A general provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act (Y.C.J.A.) prohibits the release of the name of a Young Person and, therefore, the identity of the Young Person charged in this investigation is protected.
