Festive Ride Spot Check Results in Firearm Seized
Region of Peel -Officers from our festive ride program have charged a man with impaired operation and firearm related offences.
On Saturday, November 23, 2019 at approximately 1:00a.m., officers conducted a ride spot check in the area of Dixie Road and North Service Road in Mississauga. Officers arrested a driver for impaired operation over 80mgs and subsequent to his arrest a loaded firearm was located.
A 27 year-old man from Toronto was charged with the following offences:
1) Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
2) Possession of a Loaded Firearm
3) Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
4) Careless Storage of a Firearm
5) Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
6) Impaired Operation â Blood Alcohol Content over 80mgs
He was held for a Bail Hearing and will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in the City of Brampton on Saturday, November 23, 2019.
