Coldest Night of the Year

You’ve all heard the phrase “try walking a mile in their shoes” but how many people have actually done it?   We have, and we’re doing it again. Since 2011, the Coldest Night of the Year has helped its charity partners successfully raise $21,500,000 in donations and community sponsorships across 121 Canadian locations.

On Saturday, February 23, 2019, we’ll be joining other communities across Canada to participate in The Coldest Night of the Year walk-a-thon where participants will have an option to walk two, five or ten kilometers. This event raises funds and awareness that support the hungry, homeless, and people struggling to make ends meet.

Mississauga Erin Mills - Eden Food for Change is hosting the Mississauga Erin Mills walk, raising funds to help people living with food insecurity in our community. Eden Food for Change provides a caring environment for people to access fresh and healthy food, develop sustainable skills, and receive one-on-one advocacy support.

Patric Dugas is the Event Director for the walk, “We hope to have 200 walkers join us in our first annual Coldest Night of the Year walk. This is a great event that raises much needed funds to support the growing need in our community and creates awareness for Eden Food for Change.”

This year there are three locations within Peel Region that are hosting this great event, two in Mississauga and one in Brampton:
