Carjacking One Arrested One Still Outstanding
Region of Peel – Officers from the Peel Regional Police Central Robbery Unit have arrested one youth in relation to a robbery in the City of Brampton. One youth is still outstanding.
On September 20, 2019 at approximately 11:00 a.m., the victim, a 34 year-old woman from Brampton, was parked on Leslie Street in Brampton. At this time, the victim was unloading groceries from the trunk of her vehicle; a 2008, white Lincoln. As the victim was removing her groceries, two male suspects walked passed her as she continued to unload her car.
The two suspects threatened the victim with a handgun and demanded her car keys. The victim complied and handed over the keys to the suspect holding the firearm.
Both suspects fled in the victim’s vehicle, which was last seen southbound on McLaughlin Road. The victim did not sustain any injuries.
On September 23, 2019, a 15 year-old young offender was later located, arrested and charged for Robbery and Imitation Firearm – Use While Committing Offence. He was held for a bail hearing and attended the Ontario Court of Justice on September 24, 2019. The vehicle was recovered.
The outstanding suspect is described as male, multi-racial, 13-14 years old, 5’7”, slim build, wearing a grey hoodie.
