Arrests Made in Fatal Fail to Remain
Region of Peel â Investigators from the Major Collision Bureau have made arrests in a Fail to Remain Collision investigation that led to the death of Paul De Pledge, a 39 year-old man from Brampton.
On Wednesday, August 1, 2018, shortly after 6 a.m. a collision occurred in the City of Brampton involving a cyclist and a utility trailer.
The collision occurred when a utility trailer being towed, became disconnected from the vehicle and collided with De Pledge. De Pledge died at the scene of the collision as a result of his injuries.
Following an extensive investigation by officers from the Major Collision Bureau, two arrests have been made in relation to this incident.
Joyce Pasiecznik, a 38 year-old woman from Brampton, was arrested on September 28, 2018 and has been charged with:
1) Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
2) Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
3) Drive While Disqualified
4) Accessory After the Fact to Fail to Remain Cause Death
5) Accessory After the Face to Criminal Negligence Cause Death
Joyce Pasiecznik appeared in the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton on October 9, 2018.
Pritpal Lehl, a 40 year-old man from Brampton, was arrested on November 6, 2018 and has been charged with:
1) Theft Under $5000
2) Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
3) Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
4) Fail to Remain Cause Death
5) Criminal Negligence Cause Death
6) Breach of Recognizance
7) Breach of Recognizance
Pritpal Lehl will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton on November 6, 2018.
