Arrest Made on Canada-Wide Warrant in Homicide Investigation

Region of Peel – Investigators from the Homicide Bureau have arrested a Toronto man wanted for first-degree murder.

On May 11, 2024, at 4:18 a.m., officers responded to reports of shots fired near Kennedy Road and Stafford Drive in Brampton. First responders located a victim at the scene suffering from gunshot wounds and transported him to a trauma centre, where he later succumbed to his injuries. The victim has been identified as 43-year-old Dayne Gordon of Toronto.

On Feb. 9, 2026, Winardo Winteria Morris (41) was arrested and charged with first-degree murder. Morris was held in custody pending a bail hearing at The Ontario Court of Justice.
