Arrest Made in Sexual Assault Investigation
Region of Peel – Peel Regional Police have made in arrest in relation to a sexual assault investigation that occurred on a transit bus in Mississauga.
On Tuesday, Nov. 18, the accused, boarded a transit bus and sat beside the female victim unknown to him. It is alleged the accused proceeded to sexually assault the victim while the bus was in motion. Following the incident, the accused fled the bus and was arrested by responding officers a short distance away.
Saman Salimianrizi, a 32-year-old male of no fixed address, was arrested and charged with:
- Sexual Assault
- Breach of Probation Order (x2)
He was held pending a bail hearing and remains in custody.
Salimianrizi is also facing sexual assault charges with York Regional Police in relation to a similar incident and investigators believe there may be additional victims.
