Arrest Made in Kidnapping Investigation

 

 

 

Region of Peel – The 11 Division Criminal Investigations Bureau (CIB) have made an arrest in connection with a kidnapping in Mississauga and are searching for three outstanding suspects.

On Nov. 27, 2024, at approximately 10:20p.m., the victim, a 24-year-old male was in the area of Windwood Drive and Bucklepost Crescent when he was assaulted by four suspects and forced into an awaiting Ford F-150 pickup. He was held for several hours, continually assaulted, and threatened for money.  The suspects stole his phone before releasing him near Loyalist Drive and fleeing the area.

On Dec. 4, 2025, following a thorough investigation, 24-year-old Mohamad Rayyan Dassut of Mississauga was arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code offences:

  • Kidnapping with Intent to Confine
  • Assault Cause Bodily Harm
  • Robbery
  • Extortion
  • Forcible Confinement
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime

At the time of his arrest, Dassut was subject to conditions of a Probation Order.  He was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Three remaining suspects are still outstanding, and this investigation remains ongoing.
