Arrest Made in Homicide Investigation

Region of Peel — Investigators from the Peel Regional Police Homicide and Missing Persons Bureau have arrested and charged an individual in a homicide investigation.
On Tuesday, August 5, 2025, just before 1:00 a.m., Peel Regional Police received a 911 call for a fight near Centre Street and Queen Street in Brampton. Emergency services responded and located a 39-year-old male and female from Brampton suffering from non-life-threatening injuries. They were transported to a local hospital.
The investigation led officers to a third victim, a 78-year-old woman from Brampton in the same area, who was pronounced deceased.
All three victims suffered injuries from an edged weapon.
Wilfred Kent, a 64-year-old from Brampton, is charged with the following:
- Second Degree Murder
- Aggravated Assault X2
He was held for a bail hearing and attended the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.
