Arrest Made in Fatal Fail To Remain Collision

Region of Peel – Investigators have made an arrest in a fatal fail to remain collision that occurred on November 30, 2018 on Dundas Street East in the City of Mississauga.

On Friday, November 30, 2018 between 7:15 p.m. and 7:50 p.m. the victim, 54 year old Gianfranco (John) Zucatti, a father and local resident was struck by a vehicle as he crossed the roadway in the area of Dundas Street East and Wharton Way in the City of Mississauga. Gianfranco Zucatti died as a result of the injuries he sustained.

On March 19, 2019, following a lengthy investigation, officers from the Major Collision Bureau arrested Clinton Sebastian-Francis, a 25-year-old man from Toronto, and charged him with Fail to Remain at the Scene of an Accident Causing Death and Public Mischief.

He will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton on March 20, 2019 for a bail hearing.  Investigators would like to thank the media and members of the community for their assistance in this investigation.
