Arrest in Discharge Firearm Investigation leads to further Firearm Seizure

Region of Peel –Officers from the 22 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau (CIB) have arrested and charged a Toronto man after gunshots were fired at a Brampton business.

On July 8, 2025, in the early morning hours two individuals attended a business located in the area of Rutherford Road South and Steeles Avenue East.  One individual fired multiple rounds into the business and fled in a stolen vehicle.

On Jan. 9, following a lengthy investigation, a Criminal Code Search Warrant was executed at an address in Toronto.  During the search, a loaded illegal handgun was located.

Tray Clarke, a 26-year-old male, has been arrested and charged with the following offences:

  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
  • Reckless Discharge of a Firearm
  • Mischief Over $5000
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
  • Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
  • Possession of a Loaded Prohibited Firearm
  • Careless Storage of a Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited Device or Ammunition

Clarke was held pending a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice.
