Appeal for Witnesses in Fatal Collision Investigation (4)

Region of PeelInvestigators from the Major Collision Bureau are seeking the public’s assistance in their investigation into a fatal collision that occurred in the City of Mississauga.

On Friday, November 9, 2018 at 12:15 a.m., a City of Mississauga transit bus was stopped at a bus stop at Tomken Road and Bloor Street in the City of Mississauga. At the same time a red Toyota Rav4 was travelling along Bloor Street in the City of Mississauga when it collided with the stopped transit bus.  

The driver of the Toyota Rav4, Ricardo Reyes a 70 year-old man from Mississauga, succumbed to his injuries on scene. The passenger of the Rav4, Juliet Baptista a 61 year-old woman from Mississauga, suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to a trauma centre. At the time of the collision, there were five passengers on the bus, none of whom suffered any serious injuries.

Investigators are appealing for witnesses, who may have seen the collision or have video footage of the incident to contact investigators with the Major Collision Bureau at (905) 453-2121, ext. 3710.
