Appeal for Witnesses in fatal Collision Investigation

Region of PeelInvestigators from the Major Collision Bureau are seeking the public’s assistance in their investigation into a fatal collision that occurred in the City of Brampton.

On Friday, November 9, 2018 at 6:00 p.m., a 78 year old female, Deotee Bhagwandin, was crossing James Potter Road at the intersection when a vehicle travelling southbound on James Potter Road struck her. The vehicle was being occupied by a male driver 51 years old and a female passenger 42 years old. Deotee Bhagwandin was transported to a trauma center in critical life threatening condition.

On Saturday, November 10, 2018 at 4:00 a.m. Deotee Bhagwandin was pronounced deceased at hospital.

Investigators do not believe speed or alcohol to be a factor. The investigation is ongoing.
