Appeal for Witnesses in Brampton Sexual Assault (1)
Region of Peel– Investigators from the Special Victims Unit are appealing to the public for witnesses that may have witnessed a sexual assault that occurred in the area of Professors Lake in Brampton.
On Wednesday, June 12, 2019, at approximately 9:45 a.m. the 20 year-old female victim from Brampton was jogging around Professor’s Lake. As she completed her jog, the victim ran through a wooded area on an unpaved trail that separates the paved trail around the lake and the parking lot of the recreational center. While running on the unpaved trail, the victim tripped and fell to the ground. While getting up, an unknown man appeared from the wooded area. The man immediately grabbed the victim’s waist, and would not let go, she attempted to stop him and kick one of his legs.
The man then picked the victim up and dragged her off the trail and into the wooded area. The man pushed the victim against a tree. His attempt at any further action was interrupted by a witness walking by causing him to flee the area towards the recreational center.
The suspect is described as a male, black, mid 20’s, 6 feet tall, with a medium muscular build.
