Appeal for Witnesses for a Fail to Remain Collision Involving a Pedestrian

 Region of PeelInvestigators from the Major Collision Bureau are seeking the public’s assistance in their investigation into a collision that occurred in the City of Mississauga.

On Wednesday, December 5, 2018, shortly after 7:00 a.m.,  a 60 year old woman was crossing Dixie Road at Shawson Drive when she was struck by a transport truck that was making a right turn at the intersection. The vehicle failed to stop after the collision and remains outstanding. Witnesses described the vehicle as a light brown tractor unit with a white trailer. The victim attended a local hospital where she was treated for serious but non-life-threatening injuries. 

Investigators are appealing for witnesses including any transport truck drivers who may have been in the area between 6:55 a.m. and 7:10 a.m. Anyone who may have witnessed the collision or has video footage of the incident is asked to contact investigators with the Major Collision Bureau at (905) 453-2121, ext. 3710.
