Additional Arrests Made in Human Trafficking Investigation
Region of Peel – The Peel Regional Police Vice Unit has arrested and charged two more individuals in connection to an investigation involving two females who were trafficked across the province in 2024.
In October 2024, Peel Regional Police and Halton Police began an investigation after two females who were not known to each other alleged they had been sexually trafficked throughout the Golden Horseshoe area. The suspect(s) exercised control over aspects of their lives while profiting financially from it.
In the early stages of the investigation, police identified 37-year-old Marcus Moses (also known as King Marlow or Marlow) as a suspect. In fall 2024, Moses was arrested after search warrants led to the seizure of a firearm, drum magazine, and large amounts of ammunition and drugs. At the time, Moses was charged with 26 offences related to human trafficking, drug trafficking, and weapons possession. To date, he remains in custody and now faces 20 additional charges in relation to new victims coming forward, bringing the total to 46 offences.
As the investigation progressed, two females were also arrested and charged, and held for bail.
Ashley Mullings, 31, of Thorold Ontario has been charged with:
- Trafficking in Persons X2
- Advertise Sexual Services
- Exercise Control, Direction or Influence X2
- Communicate with Anyone for the Purpose of Obtaining Sexual Service X2
- Receive Material Benefit Resulting from Trafficking in Persons
- Receiving Material Benefit from Sexual Services
- Take Motor Vehicle without Owner's Consent
Tiana Beckford, 34, of Thorold Ontario has been charged with:
- Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
- Trafficking in Persons
- Exercise Control, Direction, or Influence
- Advertise Sexual Services
- Receive Material Benefit Resulting from Trafficking in Persons
- Receiving Material Benefit from Sexual Services
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking [Heroin and Fentanyl X2
Both individuals were later released on bail with court conditions.
Investigators believe there may be more victims of Marcus Moses and his associates, particularly in the Golden Horseshoe area between 2014 and 2024.
