49-Year-old Man Charged with Child Luring

Region of Peel Investigators from the Peel Regional Police Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit have arrested and charged a 49-year-old Brampton man in connection with an alleged online child luring investigation.

In April 2025, the ICE Unit initiated an investigation into an unknown individual suspected of using social media platforms to lure persons under the age of 16 for a sexual purpose.

Through investigative efforts, the suspect was identified as Carlos Barros De MendonicaPeres, who allegedly operated under multiple online personas, including:

  • “Carloperes24”
  • “Ongoingreltinsp”
  • “Married4ong”

On Thursday, Oct. 2, Carlos was arrested and charged with four counts of Luring a Child under the Age of 16. He was held for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.

Investigators believe there may be additional victims who were contacted by the accused online. The investigation remains ongoing.
