Hiring Process
Every civilian job at Peel Regional Police is different, and the hiring process can change depending on the role. Some positions may require extra testing or steps, while others may move faster. Below is a general outline of what applicants can expect:

Selected applicants will meet with a hiring panel for an in‑depth interview.
All successful candidates go through a police background check before receiving an offer.

Co-op Placements
Co-op placements are available for high school, college and university students.
How to Apply
College and university students:
You must apply online through the co‑op application portal.High school students:
The high school co‑op program is open to Grade 12 students who live in Peel Region. Placements run during two school terms each year, starting in September and February. To apply or learn more, talk to your school’s co‑op teacher.
About College and University Co-op Placements
College and university co-op terms follow regular school semesters. Placements last 15 weeks and usually begin in January, May, or September.
To qualify, you must:
- Be currently attending a college or university.
- Be enrolled in a co‑op or work‑term program at your school.
