Women in Policing

South-asian female police officers chatting

Building a stronger, more effective police service that reflects the community we serve is a top priority for Peel Regional Police.

Our commitment to 30 Forward is about driving cultural change that opens doors for qualified women and strengthens leadership across all roles. We want to shape a culture where women thrive, not only as members, but as leaders.

Leading the Way for Women

Peel Regional Police is charting a clear path toward increasing the representation of women across our organization. These steps are paving the way for meaningful change:

  • Transformed how we recruit to make sure qualified women feel encouraged to apply, while keeping our standards high and consistent.
  • Improved how we support women and introduced leadership programs to help them grow.
  • Reviewed workplace culture and are actively working to eliminate barriers that could hold women back from advancing in any role or rank.
  • Connected with our community, listened to different perspectives and built trust through representation.

In November 2025, Peel Regional Police signed the 30 Forward Pledge, committing to increase women’s representation and transforming systems that influence recruitment, retention, promotion and culture.

This pledge is about more than just meeting a number. We will continue to expand opportunities for qualified women while actively working to develop and share organizational changes that support this goal.
