Police Constables
Police constables are fully sworn officers who serve on the front lines of policing. They respond to emergencies, protect public safety and enforce the law. Constables work directly with the community – handling calls for service, conducting investigations, de‑escalating conflicts and assisting in urgent situations.
They also play a key role in building public trust. As the first point of contact for many residents, constables strengthen community relationships through visibility, communication and problem‑solving, helping create safe and supportive neighbourhoods.
Cadets
Cadets are aspiring police constables who receive early training and hands‑on exposure to policing. While they are not sworn officers, cadets learn essential skills, support non‑enforcement tasks and gain insight into day‑to‑day police work. They assist with community events, administrative duties and observational learning to better understand policing responsibilities.
The cadet program is a key pathway into law enforcement, offering practical experience, mentorship and structured development that prepares participants for full constable training.

Uniform Careers
Experienced Officers
Experienced Officers bring important policing skills to our teams. They help on the front line, support investigations and guide newer members. Their experience helps us respond safely and effectively to the needs of our community.
Civilian Careers
Special Constables
Special Constables help keep our courts and communities safe. They assist with prisoner transport, court duties and other daily safety tasks. They work closely with officers and civilian staff to make sure everything runs smoothly.
Volunteering
Auxiliaries
Auxiliary Police Officers volunteer their time to support Peel Regional Police. They help at community events, join RIDE checks, assist with patrol escorts and support public‑safety activities across the region.
