If you’ve been involved in a car accident or other incident and need police documentation for insurance, legal or personal records, you can request a Motor Vehicle Collision Report, Motor Vehicle Collision Notes or General Occurrence Report online only.

What to know before you request a report

Government‑issued photo ID is required for citizen requests for Occurrence Reports and Motor Vehicle Collision Reports.

You will receive a separate email after submitting your request with a secure link to upload your ID.

Processing timelines:

  • Occurrence Reports and Motor Vehicle Collision Reports: processed within 25 business days
  • Motor Vehicle notes and statements: minimum processing time of 3 months
  • We do not provide same-day or expedited services for report requests.

Please check all email folders, including junk and spam, for any emails from Peel Regional Police.

  • Motor Vehicle Collision Reports that were filed at a Collision Reporting Centre are not available through the Peel Regional Police request portal.
  • Officer notes related to occurrence reports must be requested through the Information and Privacy Requests portal.
  • If you are an insurance company or law firm requesting officer notes or statements, please email MVCNotesAndStatements@PeelPolice.ca with detailed information about your request to confirm the report can be released before submitting a formal request.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, you can only request an occurrence report, motor vehicle collision report and officer notes and statements online. In-person and mail requests are not accepted.

Reports are available by email (PDF) or by mail. You can select your preferred delivery method when submitting your request.

PDF viewer software (such as Adobe Acrobat Reader) is required to access emailed reports.

Online record request processing times vary depending on the type of request submitted.

  • General Occurrence Reports and Motor Vehicle Collision Reports may take up to 25 business days to process.
  • Officer Notes and Statements require a minimum processing time of 3 months.

Processing timelines are based on a Monday to Friday business schedule. Additional time may be required to verify information and complete mandatory redactions.

Processing timelines do not include mail delivery time. If you choose to receive your report by mail, please refer to Canada Post for delivery standards.

Delays may occur if:

  • Your request is missing required information; we will attempt to contact you. Applications that contain errors or omissions, such as missing report details, may result in processing delays. To help avoid delays, please ensure your online Record Request application is completed accurately and thoroughly.
  • Reports are currently under investigation
  • Reports require further administrative review related to the YCJA act and MFIPPA legislation

As of September 1, 2023, Peel Regional Police no longer releases self‑reported motor vehicle collision reports.

If your collision was reported at a Collision Reporting Centre, you must request your accident report and related records through one of the following:

You must have been involved in the collision to obtain a copy of the Motor Vehicle Collision Report.

Body‑Worn Camera footage may be requested by completing the Body‑Worn Camera Footage Request Form. The fee is $323.00 per video, per occurrence report.

Please submit the completed form along with a copy of your government‑issued photo identification. Documents may be emailed to IPU@peelpolice.ca.

Once your request is received, a file will be opened and you will be sent a fee estimate outlining the costs associated with your request. After payment is received, the footage will be reviewed and provided to you through a secure link from Evidence.com.

All third‑party images will be redacted unless consent from the individual is provided.

Open the Body-Worn Camera Footage Request Form

Surveillance, Dash Cam, CCTV, and In‑Car Camera footage may be requested by submitting a request by email along with a copy of your government‑issued photo identification. The fee is $232.00 per video, per occurrence report.

Please email your request and identification to IPU@peelpolice.ca.

Once your request is received, a file will be opened and you will be sent a fee estimate outlining the costs associated with your request. After payment is received, the footage will be reviewed and provided to you through a secure link from Evidence.com.

Yes. Record requests are submitted online. No in‑person visit or mailed application is required.
