UPDATE: Victim Succumbs to Injuries following a Stabbing in Mississauga
Region of Peel – Investigators from the Homicide and Missing Persons Bureau have upgraded the charges against a woman in connection with a stabbing in Mississauga.
On Sunday, Sept. 6, at approximately 5:30 p.m., officers responded to reports of a stabbing that occurred in the area of Dixie Road and Dundas Street East. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male suffering from a serious stab wound. He was transported to hospital in critical condition.
The following day, 42-year-old Lorena Sanchez of Mississauga was arrested and charged with Attempted Murder. She was held in custody pending a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.
On Sept. 10, the victim succumbed to his injuries and the Homicide and Missing Persons Bureau took the carriage of this investigation.
On Sept. 18, Sanchez was brought to the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton where her charges were upgraded to Second Degree Murder.
