Two Arrested in Connection with 2025 Brampton Shooting
Region of Peel – Investigators with the 22 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau (CIB) have arrested and charged two males in connection with a shooting that occurred in Brampton in October 2025.
On Sunday, Oct. 19, 2025, at approximately 10:40 p.m., police responded to call for a shooting in the area of Dawnridge Trail and Clifton Court. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
As a result of the investigation, two individuals were arrested in August 2026 and charged in relation to the incident. Lavontae Bowleg, a 19-year-old male of Sudbury, and a male from Oshawa who was 17 years old at the time of the offence, are each charged with:
- Aggravated Assault
- Attempted Murder Using Firearm
- Carrying Concealed Weapon
- Conspiracy to Commit Murder
- Discharge Firearm with Intent
- Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
- Occupant of Motor Vehicle Knowing there was Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Weapon
- Possession of a Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm
- Possession Property Obtained by Crime
- Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
Both accused have been held in custody pending a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice.
A general provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act (Y.C.J.A.) prohibits the release of the name of a Young Person, and, therefore, the identity of the Young Person charged in this investigation is protected.
