Mississauga Stabbing Suspect Arrested
Region of Peel – Investigators from the 12 Division Criminal Investigations Bureau (CIB) have arrested and charged a woman in connection with a stabbing outside a Mississauga shelter.
On Sunday, September 6, at approximately 5:30 p.m., officers responded to reports of a stabbing on Dundas Street East. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male suffering from a serious stab wound to the neck. He was transported to hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
Officers arrested a man who was involved in an initial altercation with the victim. As the investigation progressed, officers determined that he was not responsible for the stabbing and he was subsequently released. Investigators identified an adult female as the stabbing suspect, who had fled the area on foot prior to police arrival.
On Monday, September 7, 42-year-old Lorena Sanchez of Mississauga was located, arrested and charged with Attempted Murder. She was held in custody pending a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.
