Update: Authorization to Identify Youth Expires in Brampton Homicide Investigation
Note: Effective July 22 at 5 p.m., the judicial authorization permitting the identification of the two young persons has expired. All content containing their names or photographs must be removed.
Region of Peel – Detectives from the Homicide Bureau continue to seek information in connection with a fatal shooting in Brampton following the expiry of a judicial authorization that allowed two young persons to be publicly identified.
On Sunday, July 5, at approximately 3:40 p.m., police responded to reports of a shooting in the area of Edenbrook Hill Drive and Earlsbridge Boulevard in Brampton. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim, a man in his 20s, was transported to a trauma centre, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Investigators have identified two young persons wanted for:
· First-Degree Murder
The judicial authorization permitting the identification of the young persons expired at 5 p.m. on July 22. As a result, the names and photographs of the young persons can no longer be published or broadcast.
Investigators continue to urge both suspects to seek legal counsel and surrender to police. Members of the public are reminded that anyone found harbouring or assisting either suspect may be subject to criminal charges.
