Repeat Street Racer Arrested, Charged

Region of Peel – Investigators from the Safer Roads Team (SRT) have charged a Brampton man following an investigation into illegal street racing and dangerous driving incidents in Mississauga and Toronto.

Over the course of a three-month investigation, officers identified a driver allegedly participating in multiple illegal races while operating a vehicle without licence plates and concealing his identity with a ski mask.

On Aug. 30, at approximately 1:06 a.m., officers observed a Red BMW M3 participating in a street race in the area of Explorer Drive and Satellite Drive.

On Sept. 26, officers observed the same vehicle racing on two separate occasions, including in the area of Meadowpine Boulevard and Danbro Crescent, where the vehicle allegedly proceeded through a red light at Winston Churchill Boulevard and Highway 401, and later in the area of Clayson Road and Bartor Road in Toronto.

As a result of the investigation, officers identified the driver as Tarman Toor, 24, of Brampton.

On Oct. 28, police executed a Criminal Code search warrant at a residence in Brampton. Toor was arrested and charged with:

  • Dangerous Operation x3
  • Disguise with Intent x3
  • Race a Motor Vehicle x3

Toor is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton at a later date.
