Public Safety Advisory – High-Risk Offender to Reside in the Region of Peel

Region of Peel – Peel Regional Police are issuing a Public Safety Advisory regarding the release of a high-risk offender who will be residing in the Region of Peel.

Gil Dasilva, 74, was released from custody on Oct. 9, 2026, after completing a sentence for manslaughter. Gil has an extensive criminal history, including convictions for violent offences.

Peel Regional Police’s Offender Management Unit believes Gil Dasilva presents a significant risk to public safety and an elevated risk of re-offending or breaching his conditions, particularly involving women. Police will continue to monitor his activities and compliance with his court-ordered conditions.

Peel Regional Police are releasing this information as a precautionary measure to help reduce the risk to the community. Members of the public are reminded not to approach him.
