Peel Police Seek Additional Victims Following Illegal Vehicle Towing Investigation
Region of Peel – Investigators from the 22 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau are seeking the public’s assistance in locating victims in relation to an ongoing auto theft investigation involving a tow truck operator.
Peel Regional Police are investigating a towing company operating out of Brampton, that is believed to have towed vehicles belonging to members of the public without authorization. The company has operated under the following names:
· A1 Flames Recovery and Towing
· A1 Flames Towing
· A1 Towing
· Alpha One Towing
The investigation began on Friday, May 1, after police received multiple reports of vehicles being towed overnight from parking lots in the City of Brampton without the approval of property management. Several vehicles were located at a private storage yard later that day.
Jaswinder Singh Saini, 39, of Brampton, was arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code offences.
· Theft of a Motor Vehicle x3
He was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Investigators believe this is not an isolated incident and are concerned there may be additional victims who have not yet come forward.
Members of the public who believe their vehicle may have been unlawfully towed or stored, or who paid fees under these circumstances, are urged to contact police.
