Man Arrested for Stabbing, Home Invasion and Attempted Carjackings in Brampton
Region of Peel – Investigators from the Central Robbery Bureau (CRB) have arrested and charged an individual following a series of attempted carjackings, including an incident in which a victim was stabbed.
On Sunday, Sept. 6, at approximately 10 p.m., police responded to the area of Clockwork Drive and Creditview Road in Brampton for reports of a robbery. During the incident, a male suspect attempted to carjack a vehicle while the owner was seated inside. The victim was stabbed before the suspect fled the area on foot. The victim was transported to a local trauma centre with non-life-threatening injuries.
The suspect then attended a nearby residence, where he kicked in the front door and demanded the vehicle keys. He was unsuccessful and fled the residence. The suspect then attempted to carjack two additional vehicles in the area but was unsuccessful. None of those victims were injured during the attempts.
On Monday, Sept. 7, investigators identified the suspect and executed a search warrant at a Brampton address.
As a result, Lovepreet Mann, 27, of Brampton, was arrested and charged with:
- Robbery X3
- Aggravated Assault
- Weapons Dangerous
- Uttering Threats
Mann was held for a bail hearing and appeared before Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.
