Four Arrested, Firearm Seized in Connection With 2023 Mississauga Homicide

Region of PeelInvestigators with the Homicide and Missing Persons Bureau have arrested and charged four individuals in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred in Mississauga in 2023.

On Monday, March 20, 2023, at approximately 7:30 p.m., police responded to reports of gunfire in the area of Dream Crest Road and Alicante Street. Upon arrival, officers located a male suffering from gunshot wounds.

Life-saving measures were initiated, however the victim was pronounced deceased at the scene. He was later identified as 29-year-old Bryan Lara-Alvarez (pictured) of Mississauga.

A grey, four-door, newer-model SUV was observed fleeing the area following the incident.

Following a complex and extensive investigation, investigators identified several suspects. As a result of executed search and arrest warrants, a firearm was seized, and four individuals were taken into custody.

All remain in custody pending bail hearings and are charged as follows:

Shamba Tull, a 22-year-old man from Toronto, and Shammar Osbourne, a 22-year-old man from Wasaga Beach, are charged with:

  • First-Degree Murder

Talena Farquharson-Miller, a 23-year-old woman from Toronto, and Ahmed Hassan, a 23-year-old man from Toronto, are charged with:

  • Possession of a Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm
  • Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
  • Possession of Prohibited Weapon, Device or Ammunition Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
