UPDATE: Arrest Made in Brampton Sexual Assault Investigation

Region of Peel – Investigators from the 22 Division Criminal Investigations Bureau (CIB) have arrested a young offender in connection to a sexual assault investigation which occurred in Brampton.

On April 16, at approximately 3 p.m., the victim was walking on a trail in the area of Loafer’s Lake Park and Camden Park East when they were approached by an unknown male suspect, who grabbed them without provocation. The victim sustained minor injuries.

As a result, a 17-year-old young offender has been arrested and charged with Sexual Assault.

The accused was held pending a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice.

A general provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act (Y.C.J.A.) prohibits the release of the name of a Young Person, and, therefore, the identity of the Young Person charged in this investigation is protected.
