Region of Peel – This Crime Prevention Week, Peel Regional Police is highlighting how prevention measures and community collaboration led to a significant decrease in pharmacy robberies.
In 2021, Peel Regional Police recorded a 234 per cent increase in pharmacy robberies, followed by an additional 400 per cent rise in 2022. Offenders primarily targeted narcotics such as oxycodone, morphine, and fentanyl.
