Peel Police-Police Arrest Three for Robbery and Attempted Murder

Region of Peel– Investigators from the 22 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau have arrested three males in a stabbing and robbery that occurred in Brampton.

On Sunday April 29, 2018 at approximately 5:45pm a 56 year-old female victim was standing on the porch of her residence. The victim was approached by an unknown male who demanded her property. When she refused, she was stabbed multiple times. The victim was treated in hospital and is recovering from her injuries. 

The male along with two others made good their escape and left the scene in a vehicle. Investigators were able to confirm that a similar type incident had taken place in the Township of Caledon.

Investigators were able to identify and arrest the three males responsible:

Olorunyomi OGUNPOLU a 21 year-old male resident of Brampton, Edgar KOROMA a 19 year-old resident of Bolton, and a 17 year-old from the city of Brampton have all been charged with 5 Counts of Robbery and Attempted Murder.

All three males were arrested and charged on May 7, 2018, they were held for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.

A general provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act (Y.C.J.A.) prohibits the release of the name of a Young Person and, therefore, the identity of the Young Person charged in this investigation is protected.
