Peel Police - High Risk Collision Locations for Proactive Traffic Enforcement

Posted on Thursday November 09, 2017

Region of Peel – Peel Regional Police are currently conducting a proactive traffic enforcement campaign that began on November 1, 2017 and is scheduled to run until the end of the year. The purpose of this new initiative will be to specifically monitor areas of high risk for vehicle collisions within the City of Brampton.

Peel Regional Police is committed to improving road safety and pedestrian safety through education, enforcement and proactive strategies. Officers from Peel Regional Police Road Safety Unit and 22 Division Traffic Enforcement Unit have identified seven high risk traffic intersections within the City of Brampton. These areas showed higher than average collisions from infractions which included following too close, improper turns and disobeying traffic signals. Officers will be monitoring these high risk areas with visibility, enforcement and education in an attempt to reduce the number of collisions and ensure the safety of everyone travelling our roads.

Road Safety for everyone includes everyone working together doing their part to ensure the safety of everyone. Please click here for Road Safety Tips for Drivers, Pedestrians and Cyclists.
