Arrests Made in Robbery Investigation

Region of Peel – Investigators from the 11 Division Criminal Investigations Bureau have charged an adult male and a young person in connection with a robbery that occurred in Mississauga.

On April 6, 2024, the victim, an 18-year-old man from Etobicoke, was in the area of City Centre Drive in Mississauga when a group of males approached him. One of the males made a demand for the victim’s property. The victim feared for his safety and complied with the demand. The group of males fled the area. 

A short time later, the same group of males was observed inside the shopping center and subsequently arrested.

As a result of the investigation, officers recovered a loaded handgun.

Joseph Lee, an 18-year-old man from Mississauga is charged with:

  • Disguise with Intent
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
  • Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
  • Possession of a Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm
  • Carrying Concealed weapon

He was held for a bail hearing and attended the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.

A 14-year-old young person is charged with:

  • Robbery

He was released and will attend the Ontario Court of Justice at a later date.

A 14 and 15-year-old young person were released unconditionally.

A general provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act (Y.C.J.A.) prohibits the release of the name of a Young Person, and, therefore, the identity of the Young Persons charged in this investigation is protected.
