Region of Peel – Investigators from the Peel Regional Police, Central Robbery Bureau have charged three individuals following armed robberies at two separate Mississauga malls within two days.

On Thursday, May 9, 2024, it is alleged that six suspects attended a jewellery store inside a Mississauga mall armed with hammers.  The suspects, wearing disguises to conceal their identities, smashed several display cases and removed a large quantity of jewellery. The suspects escaped using a vehicle previously reported stolen in Toronto.

On Friday, May 10, 2024, police were conducting patrols inside a different Mississauga mall when five suspects targeted another jewellery store. Armed with hammers, they replicated the previous day's brazen robbery by smashing display cases and fleeing with high-value items.

Three suspects were arrested at the scene following a brief foot pursuit with officers and mall security.  Two other suspects escaped and are currently outstanding.  Police recovered a large amount of jewellery along with some of the weapons used.  The stolen vehicle used to facilitate the robberies was also located and seized.

Fortunately, none of the victims present during either incident sustained any physical injuries.
