Loaded Firearm and Drugs Seized

Region of Peel – Officers from the Strategic Tactical Enforcement Policing (S.T.E.P.) unit located a loaded firearm and drugs after investigating two individuals in Brampton.

On Friday, May 31, 2024, at 12:56 p.m., STEP officers investigated two individuals in the area of Main Street & Church Street in Brampton. During the investigation, a loaded Glock 26 9mm handgun was located along with a quantity of drugs. 

Laud Barkers-Woode, an 18-year-old man from Brampton, was arrested and charged with the following criminal offences:

  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking X 2

He is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice at a later date.

A youth from Brampton was arrested and charged with the following criminal offences:

  • Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
  • Possession of a Loaded Firearm
  • Carrying Concealed Weapon
  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking X 2
  • Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm

He was held for a bail hearing and attended the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.
