Arrests Made in Human Trafficking Investigation

Region of Peel – Investigators from the Specialized Enforcement Bureau - Vice Unit have arrested and charged a male and female concerning a sex-trafficking investigation involving a woman brought from Winnipeg to the Region of Peel.

In August 2022, an investigation commenced after a victim came forward to Winnipeg Police.  The accused parties allegedly convinced the victim to attend the Region of Peel to engage as an escort.  Once away from her home, the accused parties exploited her and exercised control over aspects of her life, and profited financially.

On Wednesday, May 24th, 2023, Christopher Warren Williams, 39, from the Town of Oakville, was arrested and charged.  

On Thursday, May 25th, 2023, Ayusha Pandey, 23, from the Town of Oakville, turned herself in at 22 Division Peel Regional Police.

They are both charged with:

  • Procuring
  • Human Trafficking
  • Receive Material Benefit
  • Derive Material Benefit
  • Exercise Control, Direction or Influence
  • Advertise Sexual Services

Christopher Williams was held for a bail hearing and Ayusha Pandey was released to attend court at a later date.
