Firearms Recovered and Charges Laid in Mississauga Shooting

Region of Peel – Investigators from the 12 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau have arrested and charged three men and recovered two loaded firearms after an early morning shooting that took place outside of a nightclub in the City of Mississauga.

On Sunday, July 24, 2022, at approximately 3:00 a.m., police responded to reports of shots fired in the area of Eglinton Avenue East and Dixie Road in Mississauga. A vehicle was seen fleeing the scene, striking an unmarked police vehicle and a second vehicle as it fled. Responding officers located the vehicle eastbound on Highway 403 from Eastgate Parkway. Officers stopped the suspect vehicle and arrested three men. Two loaded firearms were seized during the investigation. Investigators did not locate anyone injured as a result of the shooting incident.

Kieron Yearwood, a 21-year-old man from Milton has been charged with: 

  • Dangerous Operation
  • Flight From Peace Officer
  • Failure to Stop After Accident (2 counts)
  • Fail to Comply with Release Order
  • Occupant of Motor Vehicle Knowing there was a Firearm (2 Counts)
  • Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession off Firearm (2 Counts)

Jordane Deshan Mootoosamy, a 29-year-old man from Mississauga has been charged with: 

  • Occupant of Motor Vehicle Knowing there was a Firearm (2 counts)

Kemar Pearce, a 19-year-old man from Toronto has been charged with:

  • Occupant of Motor Vehicle Knowing there was a Firearm (2 counts)
  • Possession of Firearm, Contrary to Order
  • Obstruct Peace Officer

All three men were held for a bail hearing and attended the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton on Sunday, July 24, 2022.

Further investigation revealed that the accused males were not involved in the shooting at the night club.  The suspects of the shooting are still outstanding.
