Arrest Made in Shooting Investigation

Region of Peel – Investigators from the 11 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau have arrested and charged a 27-year-old male from Mississauga in connection to a shooting incident that took place in Mississauga.

On Sunday, August 18, 2024, the victims were driving in the area of Courtney Park Drive West and Mavis Road in the city of Mississauga. The suspect pulled up next to the victims and shot multiple times into the victim’s vehicle. Neither victim was injured as a result of the shooting.

On Friday, August 23, 2024, following an extensive investigation, members of the 11 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau arrested and charged Nabeyou Isayas, a 27-year-old male from Mississauga with several offences including:

  • Discharge Firearm with Intent
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
  • Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
  • Possess Firearm with Altered Serial Number
  • Possession of a Loaded Prohibited Firearm
  • Trafficking in a Controlled Substance

He was held for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.
