Police Arrest Two Men For Stealing Property From Online Sellers

Region of Peel– Investigators from the Peel Regional Police 11 Division Neighbourhood Policing Unit have arrested and charged two men in relation to a series of thefts of electronic products, spanning across the Region of Peel.

Between November 24, 2018 and March 4, 2019, several incidents were reported to police involving suspects that were targeting individuals who had uploaded ads, selling electronic devices on multiple popular online advertising platforms. Once the sellers met the suspects at an agreed upon location, the suspects stole the electronic devices from the victims.

On March 13, 2019, 18-year-old Keshawn Lewis and 18-year-old Kenrick Williams, both from the City of Mississauga, were arrested and charged with numerous theft and fraud related offences. Both men will be appearing at the Ontario Court of Justice on a later date.

Investigators believe there are more victims and are encouraging them to come forward. The suspects used many different names to communicate with potential online sellers including: Marcell, Barry Johnson, Jerry and Carl.
